Microsoft Authenticator App Set Up

Initial App Setup

  1. Install Microsoft Authenticator on Your New Phone
    • On iPhone: Open the App Store, search for Microsoft Authenticator, and download it.
    • On Android: Open the Google Play Store, search for Microsoft Authenticator, and download it.
  2. Add your work account using your sign in credentials
    • Open Authenticator and select the plus icon + on the top menu bar.
    • Tap Work or school account and select Sign in.
    • Enter your NBCE account credentials.

 

You can also setup the app through a QR code on your computer if you can’t sign in on your phone:

 

Add work account using a QR code:

  1. Sign in to the Security info page of your work or school account at mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info.
    • Note: If you don't see the Security info page, go to Additional security verification, then select the checkbox next to Authenticator app, and then select Configure to display your QR code.
  2. Select Add sign-in method.
  3. Choose Microsoft Authenticator from the dropdown and select Add.
  4. If you already have Authenticator installed on your phone, select Next to display a QR code.
  5. Open Authenticator on your phone and select the plus icon + and select Add account.
  6. Select Work or school account then tap Scan a QR Code.
    • Note: If you can't use your camera to scan a QR Code, click Can't scan the image on your PC and tap Enter code manually on your mobile.


Remove Old Phone

  1. Sign in to the Security info page of your work or school account at mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info.
    • Find the device you want to remove in the list of the sign-in methods, it will say Microsoft Authenticator followed by the model of the device
    • Click Delete
